Wilber's Barbecue

I was trying to google for a good BBQ place for a good ol' carolina pulled pork sandwich which Carolinas are famous for. Hub & I had one at Carowinds and even though we bought it from a food court, it was heavenly.....So I googled for a good famous BBQ house amongst the locals and this is what I found; Wilber's BBQ. It's very near where I stay and Hub & I decided to drop by for lunch on Sun.

They are famous for their BBQ pork; pulled pork actually. The piggies were slow roasted with oakwood at the back of the restaurant....the oakwood supposedly give the meat a nice smoked taste. Just check out their hall of fame...

They are obviously popular with the locals coz the 1 hour that we were there, the "take-out" queue did not stop at all....; )

This is what I had, BBQ Pork Plate....Comes with Coleslaw and Potato Salad. Honestly, it did not turn out the way I expected. I mean it's nice, the folks were great and the pork is really soft and juicy....But I was expecting the meat to be drenched in thick sinful BBQ sauce, instead the pulled pork was tossed in vinegar and hot chilli sauce.....The locals like it though but I am not used to the sourish taste...

Hub ordered the BBQ pork sandwich which is basically same as what I ordered except served with buns....

Verdict: It was a nice, clean cosy place with great service that serve up real authentic Southern BBQ. But if you are Asian, maybe you would like to share the BBQ Pork Plate with another friend as the sourish taste can get a bit overwhelming. Maybe I ll try their BBQ chicken next time round ; P

The Cheescake Factory

Hub brought me to the Crabtree Valley Mall last Saturday, it's quite a big mall (Hmm, slightly smaller than Vivo City but the stores are much bigger) and there's this restaurant known as The Cheesecake Factory. As the name implies it is famous for their cheesecake and their cheesecakes are really, really good!! I didn't take any pics of it bcoz me being the smart alec suggested to go to the Asian supermarket again since we are not exactly very far from it. And it's summer and the cheesecake kind of turned wobbly under 95 degrees...so not pic perfect material ; p

But Hub promised to bring me there again for lunch and we will have the cheesecake there. Will snap some pics then..

Oh yes, there's a Victoria Secrets in the mall too! Happy Belly's overjoyed....keke....well I have only bought their toiletries....

This is our new set of wheels...it is going to follow us thru our stay in States....and all our road trips....Our new trusty friend! I have been trying to drive it over the weekend so far so good ; )

Krispy Kreme....

My trip to States will never be complete without a trip to the Kripsy Kreme Donut shop ; o
The sweet smell of donuts and sweet sugar frosting greets me gleefully once I stepped in, I am so ready to get my sugar fix....

These are some of my and Hub's favourite flavours...I love the fruity or cinnamon kind of donuts whereas Hub, like any other typical male loves his chocolate and chocolate-coated type.

Afternoon tea with their perfectly glazed donut......Oooo This is life.....

Quick Fix Lunch

Went to collect cheese dip and nachos which I have ordered online yesterday, will try them tonight and update you ; P
By the time I reached home, it was already lunchtime. Hence, a quick lunch for me today....Have always love this Maggi instant porridge....Mum used to cook this for me....
I added sliced liver and century egg so that it is healthier...Happy Belly loves to add loves of fresh food into her 'instant' food....

Went to buy this from a cake chop in Choa Chu Kang this morning, they are supposed to be famous for their kueh lapis. My family loves kueh lapis, going to share this with them tonight...
Happy Belly's eldest sister can bake a mean kueh lapis....She will always bake some during Chinese New Year, have been bugging her to sell them as it is really really good...Will arrange to learn from her next week, hopefully will post it next week ; )

Taiwanese Pineapple Tarts

Got these from my Taiwanese girlfriend who popped by on Friday during a 13 hours transit to Perth. It is always great to meet up with a dear friend whom I know since uni days and she is going to be a mummy soon.....
We spent a whole evening catching up and reminicing ; P
That's a sign of getting old I reckon......

Good Morning Singapore!!!

I am a morning person, I usually wake up around 8am everyday even when I am no longer working now. I rarely take breakfast in S'pore when I was working, now that I don't have to join the mad rush hour stuck in jams I am trying to get accustom to taking breakkie daily *wink*

I prefer my breakfast 'grease-free', had this for the past week.... Marks & Spencer's Strawberry Cereal (absolutely divine!) with fresh blueberries. Happy Belly loves fresh fruits in cereal ; P

Beautiful Korean Babies...

Please pardon my grammatical and spelling mistakes in my posts, as you know I am now a full time well, housewife/home maker/ maid etc...I do not have the luxury of creating my post using my company's high speed laptop with the lastest software. Instead I have been using a 7 inch screen Kohjinsha since Feb, it's a good laptop but the only thing is that you have to squint your eyes and sit very close to the monitor. Okay, a bit of exaggeration here....

Received an email from my Taiwanese girlfriend and I am glad to find out that she is expecting! Congratulations YY!!!

Before I forget, tried these Korean gems last Sunday and they are Great! Hub was whispering behind my ears that they are expensive while I was trying to choose the best looking punnet from the foodstall. Sorry Baby, I couldn't resist them...But you do agree that they are nice right....*Grin*

These strawberries are absolutely the sweetest that I have ever tasted and every single one of them are perfect. You know, no bruise and very red. They reminded me of the 'Acid-free' oranges I used to buy during summer in Perth. Yes, the oranges are considered acid-free because it is low in citric acid and hence, very sweet.

Do give these Korean strawberries a try when you see them the next time..
